Furqan Mohammed will join the “Pathway to Law: A Complete Guide for Parents & Students” panel at the MEC Banquet Hall in Morton Grove on Saturday, August 29 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. The event is hosted by the MCC Family Engagement Committee and Roots of Sunnah.
The panel is built for Muslim high school and college students and their parents across the northern suburbs. Experienced attorneys will walk through undergraduate preparation, law school admissions, the LSAT, what law school itself demands, the bar exam, and the career paths that open up on the other side. Refreshments will be served.
It is the second of two pre-law sessions Furqan is taking part in that Saturday, following a morning conference for students and parents in the western suburbs.
Families in Morton Grove, Skokie, Niles, and Northbrook tend to arrive with the same practical questions: what a legal education costs, how long it takes, and what the first years in practice actually look like. The panel is there to answer them directly, for parents and students in the same room.
The MEC campus is familiar ground for Furqan. He previously presented to high school seniors at the Muslim Education Center on car insurance and accident liability, and he has presented a seminar at MCC Chicago on Islamic wills, trusts, and estate planning.
